Health Catalyst Interoperability (HCI) has earned HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year (r2) Certified status for information security. The certification demonstrates that HCI meets key compliance requirements across a wide range of industry standards and frameworks, as well as federal and state regulations.
HCI provides users with the ability to expand the traditional clinical data aggregation capabilities of most health information exchange (HIE) technologies. Enhancing these capabilities provides health organizations with more robust analytics, without extra effort, improving access to actionable data.
Earning the r2 Certification puts HCI in an elite group at the forefront of industry best practices for information risk management and compliance.
“The HITRUST Assurance Program is the most rigorous available, consisting of a multitude of quality assurance checks, both automated and manual,” said Bimal Sheth, Executive Vice President, Standards Development & Assurance Operations at HITRUST. “The fact that Health Catalyst Interoperability has achieved HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year Certification attests to the high quality of their information risk management and compliance program.”
Incorporating a widely accepted risk-based approach, the HITRUST Assurance Program helps address security and data protection challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.
“Information security is at the heart of our mission to optimize healthcare organizations’ data analytics capabilities and drive massive, measurable, data-informed healthcare improvement,” said Kevin Scharnhorst, Chief Information Security Officer at Health Catalyst. “HCI’s HITRUST Risk-Based, 2-year (r2) Certified status ensures healthcare-data security while seamlessly integrating into our clients’ current HIEs, which strengthens their analytics capabilities.”
Three additional Health Catalyst systems — KPI Ninja by Health Catalyst™, Health Catalyst Data Platform, and Embedded Application Suite—earned HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year (r2) Certification in 2022.
