Amanda Hundt, Health Catalyst’s Vice President of Corporate Communications, was nominated by her peers and selected by a panel of leaders to receive the 2023 Women of Color STEM New Media/IT Leadership Award. This esteemed accolade recognizes a woman working in media with a motivation to develop new technology while making valuable contributions as a leader and serving as a role model for colleagues and other women in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
This award celebrates Hundt’s career in modern technology, new media, and business, particularly with the development of Heath Catalyst’s web-based company newsroom. She has also increased the company’s earned media coverage and digital and social media impact. Moreover, the company’s visibility and brand in the industry have been enhanced by her expertise and involvement with the Health Analytics Summit® (HAS), conferences, events, and other marketing initiatives. Leadership is grateful for her contributions, including Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer Trudy Sullivan, who says Hundt “embodies the attributes of a progressive, tech-driven servant leader.”
Hundt explained her definition of servant leadership: “It’s empowering people to achieve their goals, being honest about your mistakes, and giving your team members the bandwidth to experience good and bad days.” As such, Hundt invests time to get to know team members, fostering a well-rounded and balanced professional environment.
Before joining Health Catalyst, Hundt worked for a public relations agency hired to support Health Catalyst’s IPO communication efforts. During her time there, she noticed Health Catalyst’s strong culture, evident in how the team shared advice and support, along with leadership open to collaboration. When the opportunity arose, she joined the company as a full-time team member.
Since she took on her position in 2020, Hundt's responsibilities have expanded to include external and internal communications, Health Catalyst’s content marketing strategy, and the business proposal team. Hundt possesses a forward-thinking mindset and exhibits extensive knowledge about technological advancements, the intricacies of the healthcare IT market, the communications and disclosure obligations of publicly traded companies, and the interactions of the healthcare community and reporters and influencers.
Hundt enjoys her roles as a devoted mother of three young children, a loving wife, and an inspiring leader. She expects to graduate with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the fall of 2023.
